Dr Abdallah is a public health physician with over 20 years’ experience in the development and/or humanitarian sector including direct management, coordination, and evaluation of complex global health programs primarily in sub-Sahara Africa including assignments in/for Nigeria, Malawi, Liberia, Namibia, Kenya, and Tanzania. Dr. Abdallah holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of Istanbul (Turkey) and a master’s degree in international health policy and management from Brandeis University (USA).
Dr. Abdallah has extensive experience in collaborating, business development, and supporting government agencies, MOHs, various donors (CDC, USAID, PEPFAR, WHO), partners, stakeholders as well as NGOs with the aim of strengthening service delivery within various programs to promote services targeting key, general, marginalized and priority populations. Before joining Lwala, Dr. Abdallah provided leadership and led on business development on several programs in sub-Sahara Africa. He has previously worked with international NGOs such as Management Sciences for Health (MSH), IntraHealth International, Chemonics International, Medecins Sans Frontieres, Columbia University’s International Center for AIDS Care and Treatment Programs, and University Research Co, LLC (URC).
Dr. Abdallah’s technical expertise includes technical expertise includes Program Management, Program Design and Implementation, Business Development, Grants Management, Health Systems Strengthening, Monitoring and Evaluation, Quality Improvement, HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Maternal, Newborn, Child Health and Family Planning and Reproductive Health (MNCH/FP/RH), and Capacity Building.
